Have you ever sent out an “advertisement,” and much to your disappointment, received much less of a response than you had hoped for?
Let’s take a look at some marketing psychology
You see, there are several mistakes most people make due to misunderstanding psychology, which result in their ads simply not working.
How do we define marketing? here is perhaps a good way to view it…
Marketing is getting inside peoples thoughts to bring your product into their consciousness
That may put you offside, but here is something that may make it easier for you.
When you write an advertisement, a web page, an email, or a sales letter, the real reason you are choosing the words you’re choosing is because you want to influence your reader’s state of mind.
Specifically, most people want to write something that will put the reader’s mind into a state which is “ready to buy” — or “ready to sign up.”
Now the key of what we are saying is that the words you are using are designed to change the readers th0oughts at that time.
When your advertising is more ‘Miss’ Than ‘Hit’, you know you have a problem

So let’s examine why
Your ads are written with the utmost of care. In fact you took some key phrases from other ads you had seen.
However, at the end when you are ‘counting the money’, the results are not where they need to be
So, how do you get your readers to think what you want, then?
With a basic understanding of human psychology, you can craft your advertising to stimulate the brain in the way that ultimately causes you to achieve the result you are looking for.
Of course, the field of psychology is huge — you can get a Ph.D. in it. But, here are 3 psychological tips you can use to your advantage.
Some of these tips may not be what you consider to be common ways of thinking, but fair warning… Not every common thinking is going to get your sales to rocket.
After all… Sometimes what you though really did make sense, didn’t get the results
If they had, then you probably wouldn’t have read this article!

Most people will tune out when they see something that is an ad.
For proof of this, just look at your own behavior.
Would you consider using your spare time for reading advertisements?
I wouldn’t think that Ads would be a popular choice in your free time…
Anything that even vaguely looks like an ad – is seen that way by the viewer, and seen as only there to sell something.
So – giving something away for free is the best way around that…. It has to something of real value, but it relates very favorably.
That way – the giving of free information is NOT an Ad and therefore will not be seen as one.
People will be assured from your first offering of valuable information, and then when you are looking to post in you offer with them, you have a much higher chance of getting that offer seen.
Try it.

When your ad looks like everyone elses, you are dead. You may as well not advertise at all.
Unfortunately we see this so often, with all advertisements blending together to be indistinguishable from the next.
LIKE THIS…. GET IN NOW – MAKE $10,000 IN YOUR FIRST 5 MINUTES…. ETC ETC
This hits the ‘filter out’ and your ads do not get seen.
Make sure your advertisements are the ones people see, by being original and ‘edgy’.
You HAVE to stand out in order to succeed in business.
Combine this with Tip #1 to come up with headlines and email subject lines which really communicate something interesting and meaningful.
Remember, you can bait people in to read your ad with headlines and subject lines which convey something people actually want to read, and then later you can still sell them your product or service!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ TIP #3: At all costs, avoid making huge promises you know you can’t keep. Don’t hype. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
So many people nowadays make huge claims in their marketing; like if you sign up for a certain site it will make you $10,000 per week while you sleep.
This sort of thing is obviously not true, and everyone knows it, even you!
So – this kind of advertising sets off major alarm bells for people, and you lose them.
Also – people will begin to turn off when you promote something as the ‘Biggest’ or the ‘Best’ for the same reasons – they hear it so often, they are immune.
Of course, if Google make the claim of being the Biggest or The best… They have something to stand on, but all the other hype just turns people off.
You might even believe that it is the best thing you have seen in ten years – but people tune out and this promise just washes over the reader (see Tip #2).
This one can seem counterintuitive, since you might think that you *should* say great things about your website or product to get people to want it.
The problem is, this just isn’t how psychology works.
Instead, you must give people real information so that they actually pay attention, look different from everyone else, and be draw people in more subtly.
Let it be your landing page or website, that gives the wow factor.
And if the reason that you are hyping up the marketing – is that you are concerned the website itself is not going to deliver that WOW factor, you need to revise the site and work out a way to make whatever it is you are selling powerful enough to bring get the message across
